New Wild Horse Fed Suffers from Foot Lodged in Mouth « Straight from the Horse's Heart

The Interior Department’s wild horse and burro chief today assured critics that her agency is not selling horses for slaughter and has no intention of overseeing their extinction.

Joan Guilfoyle, division chief for the Bureau of Land Management’s wild horse and burro program, said a mix of fertility control and herd gathers is critical to maintaining a healthy balance on the range, but that extinction is not in the agency’s bailiwick.

Desperate Wyoming Horse Eater Shows Her Burro In Illogical and Inhumane Rant « Straight from the Horse's Heart

We have done our level best, as of late, in avoiding the urge to out and further expose the depravity of Wyoming State Representative “Slaughterhouse” Sue Wallis and her mindless lapdog Dave “Doink” Duquette. I sincerely do not want to be the agent that gives these despicable excuses for human beings any more press or notoriety than they deserve, which in reality should be none. But news is news and after spending the bulk of the past week listening to professional, educated (how far did you make it up the scholastic ladder Sue, baby?) and noted equine experts decry the inhumane, bloody and predatory act of horse slaughter at the IEC I just cannot let this crap slip by without either comment or publication. It is without a doubt, fuel for the fire of truth, integrity and higher morale standards.

Please excuse me while I slip off my sport coat, dress jeans and Sunday boots. We’ve been busy, the last several days, at the first annual International Equine Conference in D.C. and proper protocol required that I look, and act presentable. Which, I might add, was quite a chore when it came time to introducing the new director of the BLM’s broken Wild Horse and Burro program, Joan Guilfoyle; you know, the federal employee who appeared in an article in the New York Times, last week, spouting misnomer, incorrect facts and high school girlie sort of spew about how much she loves the pretty little horsies; that’s the one. It’s time for me to put my muck boots, crumpled straw hat and holey jeans back on because we got a few stalls to muck out.

HOUSTON, (WHFF) – Late Friday, Sept. 24th, a second supplement was filed in the ongoing case against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that alleges inhumane treatment of wild horses during roundup activities.

The case was successful in gaining a temporary restraining order (TRO) late last month as Honorable Judge Howard Mckibben ruled that helicopter pilot conduct was inappropriate. Judge McKibben also cited his “displeasure” of the Defendant’s justification process.

She had No Way of Knowing « Straight from the Horse's Heart

On 9/21/2007 the bloody, preditory Illinois horse slaughter plant, Cavel, was shut down as outlined by Vicki Tobin in the previous submission. It was such a moving moment that I sat down, on that day, and penned the following story which is now included in our book, Straight from the Horses Heart: A Spiritual Ride through Love, Loss and Hope. It brings me to tears to read the story, even today, when I think of the hundreds of thousands of horses that have been sent across our borders to suffer unimaginable terror and suffering since the closing of the U.S. plants. And on the other side of the bloody coin it incites in me great anger to see the likes of Sue Wallis and Dave Duquette flood the internet with lies, deceit and corruption in an effort only to make money from the flesh and blood of our equine companions. Please, help us keep our American horses alive and well.” ~ R.T.

BLM Uses Junk Science to Attack Another Wild Horse Herd « Straight from the Horse's Heart

“I truly believe these animals should be left wild and free,” said Lisa Friday, a wild horse advocate from Richmond, Va., who traveled to Utah to observe the roundup.

“The alternative is natural selection,” she said, noting that the forces of nature are effective in population control.

Friday also disputes the BLM’s findings of deficient range on Winter Ridge.

“Look at this, there’s grass everywhere,” she said while standing near the corrals. Her advocacy has led her to testify before Congress to stop the BLM’s actions.

The False Bottom at the Bottom of the Barrel in Wallis World « Straight from the Horse's Heart

hese comments really hit home as both my wife, Terry, and our good friend and Director of Wild Burro affairs at Wild Horse Freedom Federation, Marjorie Farabee, have had their lives turned upside down due to the wild fires in the Magnolia, Texas area the last 10 days. The fire has come just scant miles from both of our ranches. Terry still has an evacuated equine guest or two with our rig located and loaded to roll with the herd while Marjorie has many of her 107 charges off in alternate areas. There is nothing either funny or at all related to eating horses regarding REAL responsible horse people attempting to save the lives of their valued equine charges. But the sick and twisted Wyoming State Rep. "Slaughterhouse" Sue Wallis and her impotent lap dog Dave "Doink" Duquette can see an opportunity to slurp up horse blood at every turn, even in a tragedy. Their perversion is despicable. Thanks Vicki for continuing to expose then for what they are, the very dredges of human society.

The judge was “deeply disturbed” by the BLM’s attempt to simply brush off the continued aggressive and dangerous behavior of their contract wild horse helicopter pilot. The Judge’s warning transcends the activity at the Triple B roundup, alone, and instead reaches far into the future as the case is both active and the amended complaint is sitting on the judges desk. Any repeat performance by the pilot of Sun J and the Federal Judge will be notified and WHFF is watching.

The pain, misery and suffering that the twisted human spirit waged against innocent fellow men, women and children does not heal or even blur with time, it only smolders in the background like the embers of the burning wreckage left behind on that dreadful day.

We see, hear, feel and taste the perversity of mankind on a daily basis through the news and events of our time but ten years ago the rank evil manifested itself in such a way that tens of thousands of lives were damaged and touched around the world, never again to be the same.

For Horse Lovers Everywhere: The Truth About Horse Slaughter « Straight from the Horse's Heart

There is no such thing as humane horse slaughter at this time. What is stated below can be backed up with absolute evidence or extensive documentation of what actually happens. Please know that as awfully horrific as horse slaughter actually is, the untold suffering many horses go through from point of sale to slaughter is horrific. At the point at which the Kill Buyer owns the horse that is loaded on a large crowded tractor semi trailer, his biggest expense is fuel for the truck not food (or water) for the horses; which often are injured by the time they arrive at their first US feedlot stop many hours later. DOT and USDA Laws are often broken by driving too many hours; as well as drivers not providing horses rest, food and water at required intervals that are set forth in the Transport to Slaughter Act. Since laws are not enforced, Animals that are supposed to be protected suffer *before* the horrific death with the act of slaughter itself, regardless of the country where the horse is slaughtered
