Breaking News: Court of Appeals Issues Stay to Stop Horse Slaughter in U.S. | Straight from the Horse's Heart
We are happy to announce that the Court of Appeal has granted our motion for a temporary injunction, for a short time, staying the district court’s ruling last week. For now, no horses can be slaughtered in America, and the chance of environmental contamination from horse slaughter is again in the hands of the courts. But we will be fighting further this week, and should know more by week’s end.

Exclusive Report: Where Have All the Wild Horses and Burros Gone? | Straight from the Horse's Heart
Exclusive Report: Where Have All the Wild Horses and Burros Gone? | Straight from the Horse's Heart
Although a very few wild horses and burros were seen, the best way to describe our three days on the Herd Management Areas (HMAs) is “mile after mile and hour after hour seeing no wild horses or burros”.

BLM Solicits Sterilization of Wild Horses | Straight from the Horse's Heart
BLM Solicits Sterilization of Wild Horses | Straight from the Horse's Heart
The BLM, with Dean Bolstad as the Program Office Point of Contact (POC), continues to waste tax dollars on experimentation on wild horses & burros, which is a clear violation of the Wild Free Roaming Horse & Burro Act of 1971. The BLM is NOT protecting wild horses when it uses them for experimentation (under the guise of "research").

We Can Do Better | Straight from the Horse's Heart
We Can Do Better | Straight from the Horse's Heart
If wild horses and burros are to be managed efficiently, based on science and equitable policy, shouldn’t it follow that every effort should be made to monitor wild horses and burros? Instead of assessing only the environments in which they live while ignoring the animals themselves, rendering ‘estimates’ of populations or aerial census without accompanying visual documentation virtually useless.

BLM Proposes to Burn Cloud’s Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range | Straight from the Horse's Heart
The Billings MT office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has indicated that approximately 6,000 acres in the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range would be selectively burned by the BLM over several years to allegedly lesson the danger of a large fire under a proposed plan outlined in an environmental assessment.
The document is open to public comment through Oct. 24.
